East Knoxville has 9 miles of paved greenways which often follow natural land or water features. They link nature preserves, parks' cultural features, and historic sites with each other and with population areas. Greenways link neighborhoods to these facilities and to other neighborhoods.
Botanical Gardens Greenway

This is a 0.9 mile crushed gravel greenway used for walking, running, bicycling, walking leashed dogs, pushing strollers, and using wheelchairs. It meanders through the Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum. Vistas of the Great Smoky Mountains are visible on a clear day. Parking is available.
Holston-Chilhowee Greenway

This 1.0 mile asphalt greenway is used for walking, running, bicycling, walking leashed dogs, skating, pushing strollers, using wheelchairs, and roller blading. Parking is available. The greenway encompasses the parks baseball, softball, and football fields, and also connects to Milton Roberts Recreation.
Holston River Greenway

This is a 2.0 miles asphalt greenway used for walking, running, bicycling, walking leashed dogs, skating, pushing strollers, using wheelchairs, and roller blading.
The Holston River Greenway is located within the 44.1 acre Holston River Park. The greenway makes a loop around a large open green space, which is adjacent to two parking areas. It also continues through a beautiful oak and beech forest to cross an abandoned rail line and connect to the corner of Riverside Drive and Holston Hills Road. Holston River Park has two fishing piers, a large open green space, exercise station accessible to people with disabilities, two large picnic shelters, two gazebos, five small hip shelters and a beautiful view of the Holston River.
Loves Creek Greenway

Loves Creek Greenway is a small 0.25 mile asphalt loop located along Loves Creek, in front of Holston Middle School. It is used for walking, running, bicycling, walking leashed dogs, skating, pushing strollers, using wheelchairs, roller blading, and skateboarding. The paved loop greenway is landscaped with native trees. There is a gazebo/outdoor classroom beside the creek and greenway. Parking is available off Chilhowee Drive.
Mascot Park Loop

This is a .2 mile paved trail around the perimeter of Mascot Park. Parking is available along the road by the shelter.

Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge
