Blount Mansion was the home of Governor William Blount (1749–1800). Blount, was a signer of the United States Constitution and a U.S. Senator from Tennessee. He and his family lived on the property along with his ten African-American slaves.
In 1796, a large portion of the Tennessee Constitution was drafted at the mansion.
Since 1930, the mansion has been maintained as a museum. In the 1960s, the mansion was designated a National Historic Landmark.
