July 27 and August 3, 10, 31
3:00-5:00 PM
Come in and sit a spell on the Back Porch for tales from the Smokies. A wide variety of Storytellers entertain throughout the summer. We’ve had many children, parents and grandparents join us in the rocking chairs. Entertain your family with HUMOR and HISTORY! Outside on the Back Porch, 805 Parkway, Gatlinburg. “Stories in Every Jar”. The event is sponsored by Sugarlands Distilling.
Storyteller Rick Elliott, a Gatlinburg resident, Raconteur, uses his boundless energy to bounce from stage to audience, and into their hearts and minds. His experiences of living in Gatlinburg, fighting traffic, hornets and a smart alec attitude keep everyone laughing and feeling good.
Storyteller Janice Brooks-Headrick loves ghost tales, traditional tales and most of all, life adventures. Gathering tales by listening to locals, natives and visitors, she shares the experiences of discovering a new culture, new attitudes, and life styles. She lives on English Mt, in Sevier County.
All performers are members of Smoky Mt. Storytellers, a non-profit corporation, spinning tales around Knoxville since 1994. Gathering the stories of history, tradition and culture, they keep them alive through performances, workshops and teaching. Every event is different with storytellers.
